As one of six children raised on the south side of Chicago, on a block full of kids, imagination was her playground. Before cell phones and technology demanded our attention, the fun of the day was based on what could be created out of nothing.
Juliet was always drawing, painting, and creating but with limited resources, art school didn’t seem feasible, so she attended Indiana University (Bloomington). She graduated with honors from the Business School as a Marketing major. Art then became a side gig as she worked full-time and raised her own six kids with her husband, Darryl, in West Michigan. In 2010 they moved to Fairfield, Iowa where she was able to be a full time artist (photography, painting and filmmaking) getting her Masters in Screenwriting in 2021.
As a Visual Artist, Juliet’s work is a visual reclamation of voices long silenced and stories too often erased. Through each brushstroke, she seeks to honor those who challenged the boundaries of their time—especially women whose courage and intellect elevated human consciousness and shifted the course of history. These paintings are not mere portraits; they are conversations across centuries, a way to restore presence where absence has been imposed. By embodying their essence in color, texture, and form, she aims to transform forgotten narratives into living testaments, ensuring that their light continues to ignite minds and awaken spirits today.
